Success for St Michael’s School summer fair

The St Michael’s Primary School summer fair took place on Saturday 30th June and has been deemed a huge success by the organisers. The Parent, Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA) spent months planning and organising the event, which raises vital funds for the school. There were numerous stalls and activities at the event including a bouncy castle, face painting and pony rides.

Laura Walker, chair of the PTFA, said:

“The summer fair is a much anticipated event in the school year.”

“It was great to see so many children and their families enjoying themselves in the beautiful weather, whilst raising valuable funds for the school in the process.”

“We have a fantastic group of volunteers who worked very hard and without whom the day would not be possible.”

As a result of all the hard work of those who organised the event and helped on the day, the fair raised an incredible £4,500. This money will be put towards replacing some of the outdoor play equipment.

Throughout the year, the PTFA organises a number of events in order to raise money for the school as they aim to extend the opportunities available to the children at St Michael’s. The money that it raises goes towards many causes, including new resources and educational excursions.
