Council confirms four-week closure of Gipsy Patch Lane from Monday (3rd June)

A planned four-week full closure of Gipsy Patch Lane will commence next Monday (3rd June), South Gloucestershire Council (SGC) has confirmed. The road will be closed to all vehicles at the railway bridge, which is located near the junction with Station Road. The closure is required to allow BT to divert underground utilities in preparation for construction of the Cribbs

Stoke Gifford girl, aged 9, praised for 999 call

A nine-year-old girl from Stoke Gifford has been officially commended for her “brilliant” response when her mum became seriously ill. Catherine Camara, 30, was five months pregnant when she collapsed at home and was struggling to breathe. Massa Sow called 999 and told South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) emergency call handler Jonathan Leaton exactly what was wrong.
