Little Stoke Sort It centre set to reopen on Monday (31st July) as strike action paused

South Glos Council’s Sort It recycling centre in Station Road, Little Stoke, is set to reopen on Monday (31st July) as a consequence of industrial action being “suspended”. The site has been temporarily closed since Monday 26th June, with the council saying this was necessary “due to the reduced workforce”. The council is warning that the site might be forced to close early if long queues form.

Employee seriously injured in accident at Little Stoke recycling centre

The Stoke Gifford Sort It! recycling centre in Station Road, Little Stoke has been temporarily closed today (Thursday 9th April) following an accident in which an employee of the site operator SUEZ Environment (formerly SITA UK) suffered “serious” injuries. The incident is understood to have occurred at approximately 9.45am and the injured employee was taken to Southmead Hospital by paramedics. A statement
