Abbeywood Community School has reported “excellent” results in this year’s GCSE examinations, with Grades 7-9 across a wide range of subjects as well as many Grades 5-9 in English and Mathematics.
The proportion of students achieving both English and Mathematics at Grade 4 or above was 67 percent (compared to 63 percent in 2023).
A spokesperson for the school said:
“These formal examination results reflect the strength in teaching and positive student attitudes at Abbeywood, and with the school currently expanding to cater for increased numbers for next year it is an exciting time at Abbeywood. Following on from a very successful set of 2024 A-level and vocational results last week, it is great to see another set of strong GCSE results, including some outstanding Engineering results.”
Headteacher Benjamin Dilley commented:
“I am delighted with the performance of our Year 11 students and so proud of their response to the interruptions in learning they have faced during their time at secondary school because of COVID.”
