South Glos Council votes unanimously to condemn railway ticket office closures

South Gloucestershire Council has voted unanimously to oppose the proposed mass closure of railway station ticket offices, including the one at Parkway Station. GWR, which is consulting the public until Wednesday 26th July, has said staff would move onto concourses and platforms to be better placed to help customers and give travel advice, as well as continuing to sell tickets.

Council consults on plan to make Parkway Bridge 20mph speed limit permanent

South Gloucestershire Council is running a public consultation on a plan to make permanent the 20mph speed limit on the road that passes under Parkway Bridge in Stoke Gifford. Have your say on radical 10-year+ plan to transform Bristol Parkway Station

South Glos Council is consulting on a radical ‘masterplan’ for the transformation of Bristol Parkway that would see it change from simply being a place to access the rail network to a “valued destination” that incorporates work places, cafes, restaurants, homes, community facilities and parks. There would be a new, relocated station building and a reduction in car parking provision.
