The easing of coronavirus lockdown restrictions from late March has allowed four Stoke Gifford Scouts to finally complete an expedition to satisfy one of the requirements of the Chief Scout’s Gold Award. The post office in Ratcliffe Drive, Stoke Gifford is now under new management. A small celebration on Thursday 15th April marked the takeover of the popular facility by members of the Azad family, who have many years of experience within the Post Office business.

The children at Little Stoke Primary School have enjoyed a successful return following the reopening to all pupils on 8th March. Staff at the school have been impressed by the learning that took place during lockdown and the amazing attitude with which the children have returned to school.

During the enforced closure due to the third Covid-19 lockdown, the 1st Little Stoke Scout Group has made significant improvements to its headquarters adjacent to the children’s play area in Little Stoke Park. In the summer holidays, Mad Science are going to be using the building for summer science camps.

St Michael’s Church organised two Easter-themed trails over the holiday period, one around Stoke Gifford village and another in Stoke Park. Due to the pandemic, the popular Good Friday ‘Messy Church’ service took place on the Zoom videoconferencing platform, as did the Easter Day family celebration.
