Filton man charged in multi-vehicle arson case

Avon and Somerset Police say they have charged a 26-year-old man with 24 counts of arson following a series of arson attacks on vehicles in north Bristol earlier this month.

The attacks happened in the Stoke Gifford, Little Stoke, Patchway and Bradley Stoke areas in the early hours of Sunday 3rd April 2022.

Daniel Cron, 26, of Filton, appeared at Bristol Magistrates’ Court this morning (Wednesday 27th April 2022) where he was released on conditional bail ahead of a hearing at Bristol Crown Court on Wednesday 25th May 2022.

The force previously reported that two boys, one aged 14 years and the other 15 years, had been arrested in connection with the incidents. In reply to an enquiry from the Journal, a police spokesperson said:

“Both teenagers remain on police bail and enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”

Teenagers released

UPDATE added 28th April 2022.

Avon and Somerset Police have today informed us that the two teenage boys (aged 14 and 15) previously arrested in connection with these incidents “have now been released [from bail] with no further action being taken against them”.
