Gipsy Patch Lane full reopening brought forward by 3 months!

Local councillors and stakeholders have been informed that the planned date for a full (two-way) reopening of Gipsy Patch Lane has been brought forward by three months. Project managers at South Gloucestershire Council say they are now aiming to fully reopen the road from the end of September 2022.

Remodelled bus stops now in use at Parkway

New and remodelled bus stops have been brought into use at Bristol Parkway railway station as a £650k scheme of improvements to bus/rail interchange facilities nears completion. The project has seen upgrades to two existing bus stops and the installation of two new MetroBus-specification stops.

Gipsy Patch Lane to reopen one-way (westbound only) from Monday

South Gloucestershire Council has announced that Gipsy Patch Lane will reopen to traffic in a westbound direction only (towards the A38) from 6am on Monday 6th September 2021. The one-way system will operate between the Little Stoke Lane junction and the mini-roundabout at Rolls-Royce.

Road under Gipsy Patch Lane bridge to be tarmacked from Tuesday

Part of the road surface under the new Gipsy Patch Lane railway bridge is to be tarmacked in the coming week (w/c 9th August 2021) in preparation for the planned one-way (westbound-only) reopening of Gipsy Patch Lane in September.

Council confirms one-way reopening of Gipsy Patch Lane “in September”

Gipsy Patch Lane, which has been closed to motor vehicles at the railway bridge for 16 months, is to be partially reopened “in September [2021]”, South Gloucestershire Council has announced. A drop-in public information event will take place in the car park of Stokers public house on Wednesday 4th August.

Road closure blocks direct access to Little Stoke shops from Gipsy Patch Lane

The closure of the straight stretch of Gifford Crescent leading directly off Gipsy Patch Lane from Monday 5th July 2021 means that motorists travelling from the east are now required to follow a diversion in order to reach the Little Stoke shops and post office.

Gifford Crescent to Gipsy Patch link due to be closed from Monday (5th July)

The latest temporary road closure associated with the Cribbs Patchway MetroBus Extension construction work is due to come into force in Little Stoke on Monday (5th July 2021), when the straight stretch of Gifford Crescent (directly off Gipsy Patch Lane) will be closed to motor vehicles.

Gipsy Patch Lane: Highway works intensify east of railway bridge

Following the frustrating news revealed in our May magazine that the railway bridge at Gipsy Patch Lane may not reopen to motorised traffic until December (and then only one way), the last month has seen a slew of announcements relating to highway works east of the bridge.
